The Department of Communication and Media (C&M) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Writing and Communication. Particular areas of interest include writing in and across the disciplines, digital rhetoric, professional and technical communication, and computer-mediated communications.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD or terminal degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Writing Studies, Rhetoric, Communication, Technical Communication, or a similar field that emphasizes applied communication. Candidates must possess teaching experience, and desired qualifications include candidates who have experience with the pedagogy of multimodal communication or teaching or tutoring in a collegiate writing center.

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the nation’s oldest technological university. With approximately 5,000 undergraduate and 2,500 graduate students from across the country and around the world, the university offers more than 145 programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
